Team Hotel San Jose is a new kind of racing team and sports club, led by athletes who are dedicated to serving the community by working with disadvantaged and at-risk youth, developing the skills of beginning and intermediate cyclists, and cultivating the most incredible regional racing team you've ever seen. The core team members are a motivated group of professional and ex-professional cyclists, cycling enthusiasts, and triathletes, who ride with respect for all, regardless of experience. We welcome road cyclists and mountain bikers, runners and multi-sport athletes, men and women, and girls and boys.
Team Hotel San Jose is comprised of three separate, but complimentary, divisions:
- San Jose Racing (Pro, 1, 2, 3, and Masters categories)
- United Youth Sports (Elite Juniors, youth development, and community outreach)
- Hotel San Jose Bike Club (Category 4, recreational, and beginning cyclists)
Each of these individual divisions could easily exist under its own banner, but by combining them into one focused, cohesive program, we effectively increase our visibility, expand the scope of our services, and broaden our influence in the region. |

Driveway Ladies Night RESCHEDULED 8/14/2008
This event is geared to give would-be, new, or first year racers a venue to learn some new skills or brush up some old ones. If you're an experienced racer, come do your category race, and show the new gals what fast chicks look like! There is no charge for participants, but a valid UASC license and a rider release are required. We will have release forms at the venue.
The women from Team Hotel San Jose are putting on a Women's Night at the Thursday night Driveway Crit July 24th. First is a skills clinic, followed by a women-only race. This is a great chance to learn more about criterium racing and practice on a closed course with large sweeping turns. Here's a youtube video to preview the Driveway Crit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNvlYTVu2nU&feature=related The race that is shown looks to be the combined Men's 3/4 (intermediate, experienced racers) and Women's 1-3 (intermediate through pro level). Details of the crit series are on the Team Hotel San Jose web site http://teamhotelsanjose.com/thsjCORP/default.aspx (Since this is a road race, no aero bars are allowed.)
And you can buy a one- day license, if needed, at the clinic for $10.
Feel free to email Lori Barrett at darlingpandora@gmail.com with any questions, Thanks in advance for your support.
